WHAT WE BELIEVE

Every child deserves to feel heard, understood, and confident. That's why we see each child for who they are, not just the challenges they face. We take the time to understand their unique strengths, needs, and goals, and work hand in hand with families to provide personalized support every step of the way.

Evidence-based practice

Our clinicians combine evidence-based practices with clinical expertise and compassionate care to provide effective, personalized support that helps children make meaningful progress.

Our Vision

In the winter of 2020, the world was faced with unprecedented uncertainty as the global pandemic reshaped the way communities lived, worked, and connected. During this challenging time, Sound Matters was already envisioning a new way to support children and families—one built on collaboration, connection, and comprehensive care.
As part of that vision, we began the journey of relocating to a larger, more collaborative space designed to bring together a wide range of rehabilitation services, including speech, language, literacy, hearing and listening, auditory processing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, and more. Looking ahead to 2026, we are excited to continue expanding our services with the addition of vision, vision therapy, and dental services.
Our move to The Union @ 44 Main in the heart of downtown Milton marked an important new chapter for Sound Matters. It was a place where we could reimagine care; creating a centre where children and families are supported as a whole, and where professionals work together to provide truly integrated services.
The name “The Union” reflects both the history of the building as a former credit union and the future we are building together: a union of expertise, services, and compassionate care. By bringing together diverse professionals under one roof, we are creating a connected approach to rehabilitation that enhances quality of life and supports the families of Milton and the Halton region.

our mission

To empower children to learn, communicate, and thrive by building strong language, literacy, and listening skills, helping them reach their full potential at home, at school, and in life.
